Jim Iyke Talked About The Money He’s Making From Music
Though Jim Iyke is better known as a Nollywood actor, he once tried out music a few years ago.
In a song, ‘Who I Am,’ the actor featured 2face, but that didn’t stop people from wondering why he ventured into music.
Jim Iyke, who is on the verge to debut a reality show, the ‘Adventurer,’ told Goldmyne TV that he knew he didn’t have the talent to be a musician.
He said, “There is nothing to say about my music career actually. I was interested in music because I saw where it was going. I didn’t want to sing because I knew I had no musical skill. But I wanted to invest in the music industry and needed to know about it. You can’t tell me about fashion, you can’t tell me cars, you can’t tell me about real estate, you cannot tell me about event management, and you cannot tell about travelling and tourism. But I didn’t know anything about music at that period of time.”
For him to know how things were being done in the music industry, he revealed that he decided to use himself as a ‘guinea pig.’ According to him, I got involved personally so that I would not be scan once I invested in it.
“I did a few bad songs and still made money from it. How many talented musicians do we still have in Nigeria? The untalented ones are even ahead of the talented ones. It is all about packaging, as talent is not enough,” he added.
